Introducing Seeds for #ObscuraWednesday

What is #ObscuraWednesday?
It’s a weekly stream on Bluesky (within #occultsky) where poets, artists, photographers, promptalists, ritual-makers, and storytellers bring work shaped in the half-light — where shadow guides the vision and symbols breathe. Participants and witnesses are equally welcome: post, browse, amplify, and be moved.
Last week, #ObscuraWednesday opened as a clear field — no theme, just the current of hidden light moving through words, images, and symbol. This week, we begin something new: themes to spark your making without fencing it in. Think of them as seeds — you can plant one, braid a few together, or wander off-path and bring whatever you’ve made that still hums with the #ObscuraWednesday aesthetic. Seeds are direction, not directive.
How the seeds work
- Three seeds each Wednesday. Use one, use all three, or mix & match into your own mashup.
- Seeds are prompts, not rules. If your piece carries the Obscura mood, it belongs.
- Any medium: poetry, flash fiction, photography, illustration, ritual notes, sigils, generative art.
- Post on Bluesky with #ObscuraWednesday (and #occultsky if you wish). Witnesses: follow the tag, repost favorites, and leave thoughtful notes.
August 20 — Three Seeds
Threads Unseen: Whispers of the pattern beneath the pattern. Lines that tug at what’s not yet formed.
Veilbreak: A soft rupture where revelation slips through. A crease in the ordinary.
A Shadow Learning to Speak: The unspoken finding a voice. The silhouette shaping itself into language.
August 27 — Three Seeds
A Seed Hidden in Thunder: Potential wrapped in storm—germination by voltage.
Keys Dreaming of Locks: Imperfect fits, future doors, the promise of opening.
Reverberate: What returns after the first strike — echo, ripple, afterlight.
Joining the current on Bluesky
Each Wednesday, post to #ObscuraWednesday (and #occultsky). Title your piece if you like. Note which seed(s) you touched — or surprise us with your own. If you’re witnessing, drift the stream: repost what moves you, leave a line of appreciation, build a small constellation around a creator’s work. Attention is part of the art.
Why seeds?
Because a seed helps the forest gather. Because a single word can tilt the lens just enough to let the hidden speak. Because an open prompt invites many doors — and #ObscuraWednesday is a house of doors.
Bring what listens behind your work. Let the light whisper through your darkness. We’ll see you in the stream.
